A Peculiar Dream From the Whacked-Out World in the Mind of Yours Truly

First and foremost, sorry for not having posted for quite some time! I've been preparing for my mid-terms and a few assignments. Plus, considering that it now seems to be the flu/fever/cough season, my body seemingly didn't want to miss out from the fun and joined the party. I wanted to work on a song, but out of all the things to happen, while I was so eager to press the record button to track this song I've been working on, oh lucky me, the A string on my bass snapped off and cut my thumb a bit! Desperate to let off some steam due to my need to be creative and work on something, I read back through this blog's older posts to look for ideas.

In my previous post, I mentioned the idea of a Dream Journal, where I would post bits and details from the dreams I get. It then reminded me that I actually woke up from a rather peculiar dream, so I thought that might as well I post about it! Oh, and if my recollection of the dream sounds a bit too whacked out, blame it on the cough syrup, flu pills and antibiotics that I took. Technically, I must have been high! Or maybe it was because of the long phone call the previous night that made me get such a dream... Anyway, on to the details! Oh, and please do let me know what you think about it!

The dream was in a 3rd person perspective, with me, supposedly being an audience or a witness to all the events that occurred when I dreamed about it. However, for this post I will be 'narrating' the dream, in order to not leave out any details, and of course, to make it more fun to read :) I do wonder how Sigmund Freud would analyze this dream according to his Psychoanalytic view, though. Ok, I'm digressing. Get your popcorn and fizzy drinks at the ready, because this is going to be long! In fact, this is my longest post ever!

It was a dark, cold night in a quiet and peaceful suburban residential area. Not many cars drove by the streets. The streets, although dimly lit, felt warm as they were adorned with beautiful trees, and the gardens of the houses were lush. It was definitely a cozy place to live in; an escapade of sorts from the hectic metropolitan life. Coming back from school or work to a comfortable retreat, and spending the rest of the day with the family. That would be how the typical day would be like for every average resident here. But it would soon change, for one particular individual who lived in the house on the 2nd row, 3 blocks away from the playground.

Allen was sleeping soundly with his school uniform still on, in his bedroom which had rock band posters all over the walls. There was also a poster of Coldplay next to the window overlooking the main street, even though technically they weren't exactly a rock band. However, the poster suddenly fell off from the wall and onto Allen's face, and a loud sound followed. The sound of something that had just fallen down. And it fell really hard.

He woke up from his slumber, not because of the sound though, but because of the Coldplay poster which fell flat on his face. "What?" he muttered in a muffled, mumbly voice with a thick, British accent, reflecting his years of growing up down the streets of Leicester as a child. He stood up and stumbled across a svelte, curvy silhouette near his dusty study table. Curious, he rushed to turn on the lights to see what exactly could have woken him up and make his dear Coldplay poster fall off from the wall.

When the lights were on, he couldn't believe what he just saw. It was a girl. And she was only dressed in a fluffy, green towel. Just that, nothing more, and a whole lot less.

For any typical guy, this would have been the so-called 'time of your life' moment. "Go, take the 'Leap of Faith'!" would have been what Allen's friends shouted out if they found out about it.

But unfortunately, Allen wasn't your typical guy. He had an odd phobia: A fear for the opposite sex, despite being perfectly straight. And he was so scared that he attempted to run away, as far as he could from the source of fear -- only to come into contact with the door of his bedroom, face first.

As he lay hurt on the floor, he felt a tingling sensation, crawling up his shoulder and on to his arms. The sensation grew stronger. It felt as if something was gripping on to his arms tightly and moving about rather vividly.

"Are you OK?" the girl asked, while massaging Allen's arms, with his head on her lap.

"Massage? Head on a girl's lap? Girl dressed in only a towel? You can't be that dumb, Allen. She must be a heaven-sent!" whispered a voice deep within Allen's subconscious.

Unfortunately, he was dumb. Springing from her embrace, he catapulted, and, instead of landing back on her, went towards the door, causing his face to come into contact with it, again.

"You're so clumsy!" the girl giggled.

"Same goes to you, for having fallen into a room which obviously isn't yours." Allen remarked. "Just who are you?"

"I'm an angel from heaven, and my name is Elisa, nice to meet you!" said the girl.

Allen's subconscious was right on her being a heaven-sent. Allen was in disbelief of what he had just heard.

"You have got to be kidding me! Just what are you doing here?" Allen asked.

"You see, my three magic wands went missing. They cannot fall into the wrong hands as I myself don't know what they are actually capable of..." said Elisa.

"Did you just hit your head on something really hard? And who searches for missing wands while dressed in only a towel?" Allen interrupted.

Elisa explained, "Well you see, I was about to get ready to look for the wands. I just took my bath, and before I could get out of the bathroom, a whirlpool suddenly appeared in the tub and sucked me into it! And for all I know, here I am!"

"Ridiculous." sighed Allen.

Suddenly, Elisa walked up to Allen and grabbed his hands. At that moment, blood rushed to Allen's head like never before. He was sweating despite being in an air-conditioned room. Though reluctant, a part of him felt the seriousness apparent in Elisa's eyes and gave lent her an ear.

"You have got to believe me! Who knows what would happen if the wands fall into the wrong hands? Plus, I don't know my way around here on Earth, so I really could use a guide..." said Elisa.

"Well, ok then, I believe you. But first of all, you really do need to get dressed. My eyes and nose are on the verge of bleeding right now!" exclaimed Allen, while trying hard not to study Elisa's figure.

"OK!" Elisa chuckled.

Meanwhile, at Allen's high school's swimming pool, two figures emerged from the changing room. One was well-built, with a six-pack figure that made all the girls in town smile. The other was fit, but with a bit of flab adorning the abdomen. The two figures walked towards the pool.

"Are you sure this is going to work, Ashley?" asked the fit but slightly flabby person.

"Of course! It worked for me, just like magic! You don't trust me, Darul?" said Ashley.

"But that thing... Isn't it a toy that girls would play with while thinking they're fairies?" Darul wondered.

Ashley took out an off-white colored wand with a wing motif from his pocket. The lower tip of the wand had the words "Made in Heaven" inscribed on it.

Ashley then exclaimed, "I'll show you that this thing ain't no toy!" He pointed the wand towards Darul and a huge, vivid spark came out of it and covered his body. He then suddenly leaped into the pool, and made a world record by doing 50 laps of butterfly stroke in only 2 minutes. After 50 laps, he jumped out of the water and landed right in front of Ashley.

"Wow, it really works! I feel energized!" remarked Darul.

"With this, that Allen will never stand a chance against us," said Ashley with an evil smirk.

"Hey Allen, how does this look on me?" asked Elisa while trying on a Real Madrid jersey; one of Allen's many soccer jerseys. An ardent soccer fan, he owned jerseys of pretty much every team to have ever played in FIFA.

"Wow, she looks cute in my jersey..." Allen thought to himself. "It's a bit over-sized for someone of your body size, but otherwise, it's much better than running around with only a towel." Allen answered.

"Ok, then let's go!" Elisa said excitedly while grabbing Allen's hand and rushing towards the door.

"Wait, go where? At this hour?" asked a confused Allen.

"Let's go and search for my wands!" exclaimed Elisa. She pointed her index finger towards the door of Allen's bedroom and it suddenly started to sparkle. They then walked through the door together.

"Jump Allen! Into the portal!"

To be continued... in the next post!
